Can you find neilson jersey milk chocolate bars in the united states or new york city?

PLEASE READ THIS IT ISNT SO LONG. My favorite chocolate bars ar a canadian chocolate bar brand called jersey milk. It is made by neilson ( canadian company) but is owned by cadbury canada. It is the best chocolate bars ever even better than hersheys. i was just wondering if you can get jersey milk in new york or anywhere in the states in a store.

You can try Dylan’s candy bar (61st St and 3rd Ave); they have imported chocolate. They may not have that exact brand, though.

Need to Know All About French Chocolate Truffles!?

I’m doing my French class presentation on les truffes, or truffles. Not the mushroom, I mean the chocolate.

I’ve got a lot of webpages that tell me how to make it, but very little on what region of France it is famous in, when do French people eat it, the history of it, etc.

Please, could anyone give me some links to more academic webpages concerning the chocolate truffles? The Wikipedia page gives me very little information. Thanks!

The invention of the cocoa press in 1828 made possible separating the natural fat in cocoa beans, called cocoa butter, from the bean solids. This not only improved the consistency and taste of the remaining cocoa powder but made possible the development of solid chocolate. Eating chocolate or solid chocolate, as opposed to drinking chocolate, was first produced in 1847 in Fry’s chocolate factory in Bristol, England. Solid chocolate is a combination of cocoa powder, sugar, cocoa butter and often flavorings like vanilla. In 1879 Swiss Henri Nestle and Daniel Peter developed milk chocolate by combining solid chocolate with milk powder. Experimentation in France and Switzerland led to the development of ganache.

Ganache is the center component of a truffle. Ganache is a velvety smooth combination of solid semisweet chocolate and cream. Cooked at just the right temperature it cools to form a rich and firm paste with intense chocolate flavor. A truffle is a confection made of a round ganache center, often flavored, covered with a shell of milk, dark or white chocolate. Truffles are often covered in cocoa powder, sugar or finely chopped nuts.

Perhaps originating in France, the truffle is named for its visual similarity to the French mushroom-like fungus of the same name. Like the original truffle, chocolate truffles have become synonymous with luxury and a sumptuous taste experience. Truffles are made in a wide variety of tastes. In many chocolate houses the Chocolatier’s finest ingredients are reserved for the truffle.

I am not a fan of dark chocolate, so I have no idea!

Hmmm…so many choices, and all so delicious! It really depends on personal tastes, as some are sweeter and some more bitter. I love Ghirardelli, but Dove is a favorite of many. Hershey’s also has a premium line of dark chocolate bars available, some with nuts, blueberries, and cranberries.
Lindt Lindor Truffles are to die for, since you’re giving a gift, they would be very suitable.

What type of chocolate do they normally use for making "Gourmet Chocolates"?

While I like and use both Nestles and Hershey chocolate for baking and candy making, neither is best for this job. For gourmet chocolates you need gourmet chocolate. For fancier candy making I like Ghiradelli chocolates.

Do ‘Belgian Techniques’ make Belgian chocolate?

Chocolove claims to make Belgian chocolate in Boulder, Colorado. Their ‘about’ page reads: "all-natural ingredients and the classic techniques of Europe’s finest chocolatiers"

I don’t think that if you follow Europe’s techniques, you will make Belgian chocolate, since Belgium is only a small part of Europe. It is however a major chocolate producer.

When saying something is all natural and produced with classic techniques, it is in fact saying the creation of chocolate is going through the following steps:

1. Picking the Cacao beans
2. Drying and Fermenting the Cacao Beans
3. Mixing of the Cacao Beans
4. Burning the Cacao Beans
5. Grinding the Cacao Beans

This is where they send it to the country of production of the actual chocolate

6. Mix Cacao Beans with ingredients (sugar, extra flavours,…)
7. Grinding and mixing together of everything
8. Heating up the mix to 45° Celcius to 75° Celcius while adding Cacao Butter or Natural Soy Lecithine.
9. Transforming it into shapes.

So when this technique is being used, you could say that this could be Belgian chocolate, regarding the right amounts of sugar, Cacao Butter and other ingredients have been used.

If you’re really willing to take the chance that he’ll be fine even when you’ve heard that chocolate is toxic for dogs, you shouldn’t own a dog. Why put it at risk like that? Your dog may "enjoy" it, but there are also other treats you can give him that he will enjoy just as much that won’t potentially cause his death.

What a strange and annoying tradition! Fifteen year old kids look to get something "special" for their bee-eff or gee-eff who they’ve been dating for, lykeeee o-m-g two MONTHS!!!!!! — and can’t figure out why it’s so hard to find a "special gift." Twenty-somethings buy their significant others gifts because they’re hoping to get laid, or because "it’s Valentine’s day, and I love him." Married couples get each other gifts, but why? Shouldn’t they be showing true care for each other that manifests itself in the small things day-to-day?

Oh, and will someone bring me some CHOCOLATES?? I don’t want the love or the romance, I just want some chocolate. Thanks!

Why do you want someone to buy them for you? Just buy them for yourself and eat them in front of others. You might find someone who would like to share them with you. What has love got to do with eating chocolate? You just love chocolate.
