Anyone who loves chocolate is going to love getting it. It also shows that you are a considerate niece. I don’t even like chocolate but if one of my nieces gave me chocolate, I’d be really pleased just because it’s such a "sweet" thing to do that they don’t have to do–I might not eat it myself but I"d share it with those I care about.

I think it is a nice gift for a niece to give an uncle.
My son’s longtime girlfriend gave my husband a box of groumet pasteries because he loves them, it was for his 62th birthday.

Well, I’m not a man, but I know I’ve given my husband candy before and he’s been fine with it.

Since your uncle has a sweet tooth, he’d probably love the gift. He’d probably be happy that you’re remembering his birthday, period. I say go for it!

He is 57 , he will love it. The fact that his niece remembered his birthday is cool enough but if you get him something he likes you are the best.

I know of no one with a sweet tooth that does not like chocolate. Unless the gift is bad from a medical condition, or the cost is out of proportion to typical exchanges, then it sounds like an acceptable present.
