The Vosges chocolate/chili pepper truffles have green mold growing in them. Why only the ones w/ chili pepper?

I received a box of Vosges (high end & exotic) chocolate truffles, and the truffles that had chili pepper in them had green mold growing in them. Why is it only the ones w/ chili?

The enemy of ganache is moisture. What probably happened was something in the ingredients had a smidge of mold spores and the moisture allowed it to grow.

Vosges is a great company, you should write to them an explain what happened, they should be able to give you a credit or something to get some fresh ones.
