A short film commissioned by the wonderful people at My Chocolate.
~~~~~~
A bit about them:
My Chocolate run great workshops where you get to try your hand at making and decorating your own luxury chocolates. I did the workshop myself as ‘research’ and came home with a smile on my face, not needing dinner! (They were literally the best chocs I’ve ever tasted).
You can either go to their place over in Camden, or they can bring the workshops to you. If you want to find out more check their website or drop them a line:
i wasn’t able to …
i wasn’t able to use my SR10 in istopmotion, so I used the secondary camera to onion skin (layering current frame with last) and judge the motion. Every time i took a frame with the secondary camera, I took a high res one with the SR10.
I have a couple of other stop motions from uni too if that’s your thing.
Thanks so much – …
Thanks so much – again, bravo – really brilliant work. Why the 2nd camera with istopmotion? Sounds like you didn’t use istopmotion on the SR10E. What purpose did the software serve? It sounds like the bulk of the shoot was just single frames from the SR10E? Appreciate your response greatly. Josh
thank you.
I used …
thank you.
I used 2 cameras mounted side by side. A low quality one was linked to istopmotion (free version) on the macbook pro to track the motion. I then used my sony HDR-SR10E to take the high quality still images which I later imported to final cut pro to edit.
There were a couple of helpers at different stages, first the lady who made a couple of hundred beautifully decorated chocolates, then a lighting specialist, and a model who appeared in the video. The shoot took 5 days.
cheers.
Just brilliant piece. Can you, would you share some insight into your techniques in making this? What equipment used, how many assistants, how many hours? Really want to learn this technique. Thank you – Josh
